Tony: There’s no need to let me pass. I do not need to be ahead of the pack.

Eric: Great. I could use a running mate1.

Tony: By the way2, I’m Tony.

Eric: Hi, I’m Eric. So, how long have you been running?

Tony: Just a couple of months, but I love it. It’s not about winning, but pushing your limits3 and helping others do the same. Like the African proverb4 says, “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go with others.”

Eric: Yeah. I also enjoy the camaraderie5 runners share. It always brings a smile to my face to exchange6 encouraging words or a nod7 as I come across8 other runners. Hey, I am now training for a full marathon9 of 42 km. What about you?

Tony: Cool! I am still far from10 running a marathon. After all11, you have to learn to walk before you run. It’s not good to run yourself into the ground.

Eric: You can say that again!

Tony:

Eric:

Tony:

Eric:

Eric:
